Jim Thompson’s specialty is analysis, design, and programming of database applications. His clients include firms in the best position to evaluate database expertise, such as the MIS departments of many computer-oriented firms.
Thompson has been programming database management systems since 1979. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Southern California Business School in 1977. In 1982, he co-founded Thompson Consulting Group. When Microsoft created the Consulting Alliance program in 1993, Thompson qualified at the Partner level based upon Microsoft’s review of his work and interviews with his clients.

LYNN STANLEY THOMPSON, Systems Analyst
Lynn Thompson specializes in requirements definitions and system recommendations. She works extensively with clients to define their exact computer system needs. Thompson received her Masters of Business Administration in 1982 from Southern Methodist University with emphasis in accounting, information systems design, and strategic planning. She then co-founded Thompson Consulting Group.
Thompson works with businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals to outline a conservative approach to computerization. She makes presentations for organizations such as the California Society of CPA’s, United Way, St. Philip’s College, and the National Society for Fundraising Executives (NSFRE) regarding steps in selecting software packages, managing change, planning, and facilitation training. Published articles include major accounting software comparisons and selecting software.
Thompson’s training and software evaluation expertise includes all levels of accounting setup, support, and integration ranging from job costing and inventory to custom receivables. Other experiences include general systems operations, word processing, spreadsheets, and specialized applications, such as donor and mailing list management, property management, client tracking, hospital management, and government reporting.
